Is your Yeti based on an Australian aboriginal monster? He reminds me of the illustrations from a (rather frightening) children's book "Turramulli the Giant Quinkin" based on an aboriginal legend. Giant quinkins are hypothesized to be the same phenomenon as the Yeti and Bigfoot, but as observed/made up by a different culture.
That's about all gnomes are good for!
